Jennifer E. Jones
Jennifer is a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation department, focusing on appellate practice and providing general legal counsel to closely-held companies. She is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Appellate Practice. Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys, and currently there are only about 200 attorneys certified in this practice area.
Jennifer grew up in Missouri and moved to Florida to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. After undergrad, she managed companies of all sizes and operated her own small business. Her previous business experience enables her to truly understand the issues facing her corporate clients. When Jennifer returned to the University of Florida to earn her law degree, she served as a Managing Editor for UF Law Review and an officer for UF Moot Court. She competed in both regional and national competitions for appellate advocacy and consistently won top honors for her writing and oral arguments. These experiences provided the foundation for the appellate practice she enjoys today, including her practice before the District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, and the 11th Circuit.
Before moving to private practice in north Florida, Jennifer served both the federal and state judiciaries, first as a legal extern to Hon. Stephan Mickle of the Northern District of Florida and then as a Trial Court Staff Attorney for the judges of Florida’s Eighth Judicial Circuit. She was selected to Florida’s Super Lawyers Rising Stars List in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
