Iva Todorova joined McIntyre’s complex litigation division in 2019. Her practice focuses on handling a wide variety of commercial and business disputes, including intellectual property claims such as trade secrets, copyright, and trademark infringement; contractual disputes; professional liability claims; partnership actions; employment disputes; and business torts such as tortious interference, fraud, conversion, conspiracy, and defamation. Iva’s experience also includes counseling clients on the intricacies of insurance policies and insurance coverage.

Iva received her law degree from Florida International University College of Law in Miami, Florida, and her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. While in law school, Iva was an editor for the FIU Law Review and a member of the Moot Court competition team. She was a finalist in the 11th annual appellate advocacy competition and won the “best brief” award. Iva also worked as a teaching assistant, providing support to first-year law students in legal research and writing.

Prior to joining the firm, Iva worked for one of Florida’s largest and most prestigious civil trial firms, practicing in Miami and Tampa. During that time, Iva defended numerous, large insurance companies and their insureds in cases involving product liability, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, professional liability, and commercial litigation claims. Iva also assisted primary and excess insurance carriers in various insurance disputes, including insurance coverage, bad faith, and extra-contractual exposures arising from property and liability claims.

Iva was born and raised in Bulgaria. Today, she is proud to call St. Petersburg, Florida her home.
